Do your days feel overstuffed with responsibilities and activities and obligations? If you’re like most people, time is an increasingly precious and scarce resource.
No matter our status in life, we all get a mere 24 hours each day to do all the things we need and want to do. Making the most of those 24 hours is a struggle for many. But what if you could “steal” a few hours back by learning to automate some of the work on your to-do list?
We have so many “time-saving” devices in our modern lifestyle. But instead of freeing up our time for activities of our own choosing, it seems they are designed to give us more time to work. Instead of increasing our free time over the last few decades, we are actually working more hours and not less, despite all these time-saving innovations.
Automate Your Work to Reclaim Your Time
While our pace of life increases with many of these technological innovations, we can also choose to use them to reclaim that elusive “free time.” When we use technology to automate our work and other routine or repetitive tasks, we gain the opportunity to choose what we want to do with the time we reclaim. You don’t have to choose to spend more time working; you can choose to spend some of your time socializing with friends and family, pursuing hobbies and interests, learning new skills, or just –imagine this!—relaxing.
There are plenty of ways to automate your work tasks that weigh you down. From programs that allow you to send recurring emails (one of my favorites), to apps that help you eliminate distractions, you surely have one or more tasks in your day that you would love to shorten or eliminate with an app. For more ideas on how to automate your work, life, and even money, check out this visual by Turbo:
