denver farmers marketToday I have a guest post from Denver local Brooke Cade. It comes complete with a nifty map of Denver’s farmer’s markets. I know where I’m going this weekend. How about you?

Farmer’s markets are some of the best places to check out and bring people together to support their community. There is nothing like browsing the various booths, listening to the musicians, and chatting with the local farmers about their crops. You will learn different variations and methods of how to cook something when you build a rapport with the vendors.

Be sure to get the most out of your visit to your local farmer’s market this summer with these tips and tricks:

fresh food at denver farmers marketsGet there early. When it comes to getting the best produce you should plan on hitting the market first thing in the morning. It is during these morning hours when you have the best selection of produce.

Take a moment to take it all in. It is recommended to tour the entire market before buying anything. Why? Because that gives you a chance to survey everything and know where the best deals are which saves you money.

Go green. Canvas bags are a must when it comes to shopping at the farmer’s market. Not only are they eco-friendly, but they are great to carry all your produce and goodies in. Buying a lot? Put a cooler in your trunk to keep your produce cool while you continue to shop.

Because we understand how important community is, Extra Space Storage put together this map with all the farmer’s markets around the Denver area. We hope this map is helpful to residents, implants, and to anyone just passing through.

What are some of your favorite things to do at the farmer’s market? Do you have some tips to share?
