When I think of my all-time favorite books about life and friendship, the stories of A.A. Milne, top my list. I have been a fan of the wit and wisdom of that willy, nilly, silly, old bear and his friends since I first learned to read. They are such a fixture in my life that Tigger and Eeyore keep me company on my desk every day.
And as I thought about what I wanted to share about communicating love and appreciation to the people in our lives around Valentine’s Day (we’re not big Valentine’s Day romantics here), it was Winnie-the-Pooh and company who came to my rescue. For a bear of “very little brain” he is quite a wise one.
So, here are some of my favorite Inspiring thoughts on love and friendship from Winnie-the-Pooh. I hope they inspire you too.
I used to believe in forever but now I think forever is too short. –Winnie-the-Pooh
A day spent with you is my favorite day. So today is my new favorite day. –Winnie-the-Pooh
Forever isn’t long at all. . ., when I’m with you. –Winnie-the-Pooh
‘We’ll be Friends Forever, won’t we, Pooh?’ asked Piglet.
‘Even longer,’ Pooh answered.
If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart, I’ll stay there forever. —Winnie-the-Pooh
I think we dream so we don’t have to be apart for so long. If we’re in each other’s dreams, we can be together all the time. –Winnie-the-Pooh
Sometimes the smallest things take the most room in your heart.
Piglet: How do you spell ’love’? Pooh: You don’t spell it…you feel it.
How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.
Some people care too much. I think it’s called love. -Winnie-the-Pooh
A day without a friend is like a pot without a single drop of honey left inside. –Winnie-the-Pooh
Promise me you’ll never forget me because if I thought you would, I’d never leave.
As soon as I saw you, I knew an adventure was going to happen.
We didn’t realize we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun.
Love is taking a few steps backward, maybe even more… to give way to the happiness of the person you love. –Winnie-the-Pooh
After all, one can’t complain. I have my friends. -Eeyore
If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you. –Winnie-the-Pooh
